Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a welcoming and safe environment where visitors can connect with nature and each other. We are committed to preserving our beautiful landscapes and ensuring every guest leaves with cherished memories.

The park is a place built on community spirit, prairie heritage, and a shared love of gathering together in the outdoors. What began as a simple green space has grown into a vibrant hub where families camp, friends reconnect, and local traditions thrive. Every corner of the park - from the ball diamonds to the Communiplex - reflects the dedication of volunteers, partners, and community members who have shaped it over the years.

Behind the Park
Oungre Memorial Regional Park is more than a destination - it's a place shaped by over a century of community spirit. Its roots trace back to 1908, when homesteader Frank Foster planted the original grove that would later become a beloved gathering spot known as Foster's Grove. Even after Foster's passing in 1926, the site continued to host local sports days, picnics, and celebrations.
In 1942, the Rural Municipality of Souris Valley purchased the land, later adding a cenotaph and bandstand in 1947 to honour local service members. With the development of a dam, golf course, and additional recreational amenities, the park was officially designated Oungre Memorial Regional Park in 1963.
Today the park stands as a vibrant hub for recreation, relaxation, and community connection - welcoming visitors to enjoy its natural beauty, rich history and year-round activities.
